I wanted to improve my skill in drawing colored lights but i couldn't really think of any good idea for a setting so it turned out alittle more artistic then usual. However it's always nice to have the freedom to pose a character without thinking about gravity. I drew floating orbs at first to show the source of the lights but they ended up being more distracting so i left them out. Enjoy!
Ribera © Me CommentsI think you did a great job with the lighting.

The only thing I question is the eye shine, it seems unnatural. Given the darkness you the surrounding area, it seems too bright. Since this is a lighting piece, I think the eye should fit in more with the surrounding lighting. Not that's it's bad, just that I question whether it would appear like that given the lighting you've chosen for the image.
One thing that this lacks is a clear sense of scene. I would have loved to see a background in this piece. It's one of the areas I lack in my own artwork, and it's something I want to practice on more, so I bring it up. Also, if you had objects and a scene, it would be quite interesting to see the lighting interacting with it. As it is, it's still a very interesting composition with the darkness surrounding him, but I would have loved to see more. ^^
All in all a really good job! I think it's great to see you trying out new styles of lighting. It's quite a successful character study.
